You’re Invited: Nevada Celebrates 10 Years of Clean Indoor Air

smoke-free-zone-signTobacco control advocates from Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition are gearing up to celebrate a decade of clean indoor air with the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act (NCIAA), Dec. 8 at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City.

The 10th Anniversary Celebration of the NCIAA provides an opportunity to reflect on the impact of this major public health victory over the past decade, as well as assess the unfinished business of tobacco control efforts in Nevada. Guest speakers will include policymakers and advocates, past and present, who have been instrumental in advancing smoke-free and other tobacco prevention efforts in the Silver State.

The NCIAA was passed by a majority of Nevada voters Nov. 7, 2006. The passage of this measure provided for substantial changes to Nevada smoking laws and protects children and adults from secondhand smoke in most public places and indoor places of employment. The Act took effect Dec. 8, 2006.

Space is limited to 150 registrants. Please RSVP to Amber Greene no later than Dec. 1 at or 702-948-4160.
